Single shot injectors?
 

I recently have been having some problems with my pickup and it has been diagnosed as having bad injectors that need to be replaced. Rather than allow the shop to just install new ones for me I decided to bring the vehicle home and do some research. It seems that many people prefer upgrading to single shot style injectors from the stock split shot injectors for a little more power, which would be a nice bonus. There are so many manufacturers out there offering injectors I'm not sure which one is best to purchase from however. I see a company called Pensacola Diesel who's prices are much better than many I have seen so I am considering going this route, unless someone has a compelling reason not to buy from this company. DO NOT BUY INJECTORS FROM PENSACOLA... Period. Junk, Junk, Junk, Junk...

If you want the best mild upgraded injector, brand new AC code Allant injectors, otherwise some rebuilt ones from Swamps, Casserly, DDP or the likes...

Have you any actual experience with Pensacola diesel or are you basing your assessment on hearsay? I'd like to find someone with actual experience if at all possible.
A coworker also told me there is a company in Portland that services and sells injectors and since they are "local" I'm heavily considering going that route.

The assessment was made thru members experiences and information plastered all over the internet. Not many people get injectors that all 8 work out of the shipping container. You then have to argue with them to get the 1 or 2 replacements.

We flowbenched 2 sets I got thru atriculation when people got pissed off with them and tore them out in favor of a real set of injectors. None of them were even close to each other, what a disaster!

Save your money and trouble, get a set of performance injectors from someone who knows what works and doesn't for the 7.3, like Caserly, Swamps, Beans. Maybe Pensacola can luck into getting a build acceptable on injectors for tiny 4 cylinders, but they don't know crap about how to build or modify diesel injectors or how to run a flowbench. That my friend is WELL documented.

nydiver thank you for your real world input. I will do some more research on Google about Pensacola diesel but I think rather than buy from them I will contact the Portland company my coworker informed me of and see what their pricing is like.

def do your home work before buying a set .. there are plent of options out there...and plenty of people to screw you around!!!!!! (been there myself) ... dont mean to sound like im promoting but i do have a used set of casserly stageII's for sale.. they ran great when pulled fyi

Yes... I have R&R two sets over the years... and not one of those people ever got there money back...

The Portland company you speak of would not be EIS would it???

If it is, please, run away while you still have your money. They F-ed up my Hybrids, and three other sets for people around here that I know of. They build hybrids that put out 160cc rather then 238cc. Then they shim the armitures, which is fine if done correctly...

You seem to have an issue with everything I say, but please know this, I have been involved in these trucks for well over 10 years... Been there done that is an understatment.:argh:

Yes the Portland company is EIS. My coworker bought remanufactured stock injectors from them and had no complaints.
I don't have any problems with what you say I just like to verify the source of info received. For all I know you are a 19 year old keyboard jockey with no actual knowledge, you are just repeating stuff you have read. Thank you and all others for their input in this post.

CSIPSD really knows his stuff, i would take his advice over damn near anyones on here, but in my eyes i would rather spend the extra coin and just buy some injectors from a well known company that you for damn sure they will back up their products that way you aren't stuck with 1800$ worth of paper weights :ouch:
