buzz test and Contribution test ran
Ok, I just got my ae in the mail today and ran these two test so far. The buzz test checked out good I guess, there where a couple that sounded a lil different but not very different from the rest. On the contribution test the first time I got a Injector circuit contribution / balance fault on 3, 4, 8 on the first run. On second got just on 8, and then on the third was 3 and 8 again. Any ideas what this means?

When you run these tests, HVAC needs to be off, truck up to temp and the parking brake set.
Try it again after clearing all the codes and see what you come up with. Once your done with the tests, go to the sensor section and click on cylinder rotational value for all 8 and watch them... this only works at idle... 2-3% is fine. Above 8% and you have an issue. |
ok, will do. I am pretty sure truck was up to temp when I ran it and I know ac was off and brake on. I will check the cylinder rotational value for all 8 like you said tomm. thanks
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- 2.4 % on 4 and 2.6 on 8. anywhere from .0 to .1 on the others ???? ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- looks like 5,6 ,7 never move ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- why does it keep merging my post? Does this make it not show I have new post in this thread, cause I want it seen!!:w2: |
No, it shows as a new post, just you didnt get 4 post credited to your name, ya post whore...LOL
Nothing to worry about on what I see there. I expect to see #8 with 1.5-3.4% and #4 could be any number of minor or sensor issues... Gray CPS? |
lol, I wanna say it is the gunmetal cps I got it from international about 8 months ago or so. Could be wrong but I have a spare, grey, black, and blue, lol. I have tried them all you can say...... Well, then I guess I will find my smoke issue friday then...... I am running the compression test and crossing my fingers but I think I am gonna get my feelings hurt!

Did not know you were having a smoke issue... White, Blue or Black?

---AutoMerged DoublePost--- ok, working on driver side from front to back so far, looking like I have found my issue. 370, 295, 395, so far.......... What are my options? :ouch: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- ugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,, I officially hate my truck. Having the starting issue again that I have had in the past. Can't get truck to turn over to get the commpression reading for the rear driver side. Doing what is has done in the past, just a click while jumpering the starter relay on fender wall. Does the same with turn of key, and does it at random and then sometimes like right now havn't been able to get the truck to turn over for 20 min.:scare2::dang::argh::ouch: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- well, found this sitting under the valve cover next to the low (295psi) number 4 cylinder. Any ideas of what monster I have going on here? Numbers on driver side were 370, 295, 390, 355. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...d/101_6317.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...d/101_6318.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...d/101_6319.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...d/101_6320.jpg |
Any one have any ideas what this is or use to be ?:w2:

from the looks of it I would say its part of a spring cap from a valve... maybe the reason you have a low compression on one of the cylinders... while you have the valve cover off look at the top of all the springs and see if one of the caps is broken....
