fuel pump ?
so i just got my chip back from being re burned at beans, hook it up truck fires right up sounds good, leave it running while i go to put the pedal spring back on my clutch pedal and then truck shuts off like it was turned off at the ignition but it wasnt, i open fuel drain valve on top and nothing comes out. can a fuel pump just crap the bed just like that or is there something else i should be looking for?
|
im running a SD pump on mine an it will cut out at random. i have to get out and kick it and it will start running again. i think there is a short some where in mine.
|
yes thes pumps can just stop running at any moment.. it wont start at all? even cold? i had a pcm take a shit on me and it would overheat the fuel pump relay and shut the truck down wait and let it cool off and itd fire back up..
|
nah even after being cool for 5 plus hours it wont fire.
|
Check your fuel bowl heater fuse... Bet you find it blown...
|
where is that fuse? and if i win the bet do i get your truck ?:bat:
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- ok well i just checked the fuel bowl again i left it open for 10 seconds and it started coming out so i guess it isnt my pump. so what to look for next? |
Do you have a WTS light and SES light come on when you turn the key on?
It could be the CPS... Simple and it fits the issue... RPM gauge move when you crank it? |
it bumps up to about 200
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- well i pulled my beans chip out and she fired right up now iam waiting for beans to call me back |
Hummmm... It ran, then didnt... Pull the chip and it runs.
Do you have a no start setting on the chip? Did you have a chip before? Contacts clean and everything? |
yea i had a ts, sent it to beans to get re burnt and it does not have a no start option, now im waiting to hear back from them
|
Could be the chip, could be the PCM... Might try cleaning the contacts a bit more on the pcm... Remember, keys out of the ignition when working on the PCM/chips...
|
yea i know, i have batteries out also, im showing a decent amount of copper on the pcm so idk how much more i can clean it up
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- what can i use to make sure the contacts are good and clean? rubbing alcohol or anything? |
did you clean both sides of the contact... if you just clean one side it wont connect right. and on that not when i put in my first chip, the truck acted just like yours, and i took it out and re installed it, then she ran fine
|
i cleaned it both sides with scotch brite pad, jeff at beans told me that it could be the controller for the chip, im sending them the pcm and the chip to look at
