290k is a LONG life for a stock tranny. Most times your lucky to see 100-150k out of them. |
It depends how you drive it, whether or not you tow, how well you maintain it, and what day of the week on which it was built.
I've got 230K on my original. May the transmission gods smile down upon you. |
LOL... I'm on my 6th or 7th...:ouch: I lost count.

oh sweet then im one of the few lucky ones huh? lol:jump: :yeah: thats pretty sweet but i guess i better start looking around so when it does go out huh?
|
yeah, i have sun coast internals and a PATC torque converter, but my stock one lasted about 163k with a superchip max micro on it the whole time
|
220,xxx miles and three transmissions in my truck.

. One?--yes. ;) Factory Torque converter is a weak link. When it's time, don't get a rebuilt TC made from a factory converter. Many are just that. You can't add a cover or more clutches to them and call them high performance either. :lol88: A patched up stock converter for high performance won't last as long as the original. It now has more load on it instead of being improved. :td: For $450 you can get a stock replacement converter that's twice as strong today. For $750 you can get a real high performance replacement converter that performs as well as the $1200 to $1400 brand names. Plus you'll feel it in the seat of your pants from each take off from a stop. :tu: ~ |
