no brakes! ahhh
 

i was finally in a position to get the psd ive wanted since the first time i heard the motor in 95. i searchd for an unmolested one and then find out a month after i got it there is a six position bullydog chip in it. well the fun started, i have melted about 4 tires to the radials and i have only driven the thing about 4000 miles since i got it 8 months ago.(its my sunday driver). the problem im having is when im doing a burn out and then have to slow or stop i have no brakes,the pedal goes to the floor,then i have to drive up the curb or whatnot to avoid hitting a car or somthing. the brakes seem to work fine otherwise except for hard stops when im loaded up with the 900 pound plow and 1500 pounds of balest sand in the back. i hate antilock brakes and i never liked em on my wives minivan either,they increase stopping distance to a dangerous level and they should be outlawed. my question is can i just pull a fuse be ok? from what i can tell is there is no old style porportioning valve and what not its all computer controlled. on my old 92 chevy plow truck i just unhooked the stupid brake computer and never had a problem ,but that was old school rear antilock . i love everything about the truck evcept the brakes. my buddy just got a 02 excrusion and his brakes suck too. on a wet sewer cap his pedal went to the floor and he lost all brakes too. what gives ? any suggestions would be great. and great site,i cant stop "rollin coal" to bad my fuel gauge wont stop going down,i cant seem to get over 8 mpg when i drive this thing but my wife manages to get like 16 doing city driving,lol.

well are you doing a "break stand" to do your burn outs? cuz if so it is hard on your breaks(kind of like riding your breaks down a mountain), and i assume you have checked the abs system for leaks? im guessing that your burnouts are heating up your breaks and keeping them from catching.

With your back wheels spinning it is prob setting your truck into a abs situation,pull the fuse and see if it goes away.:c:

its not a overheat issue because it happens with brake touques or just a regular burnout. id love to just pull the fuse but the system doesnt have a proportioning valve and the brakes feel real weird with the fuse pulled(tried that).i was just wondering if anyone has found a better why to solve this then just pull the fuse. thanks
