driver side fire wall below the master cylinder, theres a connector bout 5 inches long 1 inch wide with a sticker on it the sticker will be on the side of the fire wall, they say itll be difficult to see:dang: they say use a flash light and a mirror, itl be 3 letters and 1 number, im goin thro the same stuff right now!!!!:jump:

Lange503 05-12-2010 02:16 PM

its on the driver side under the dash, behind the E-brake, a 7 mm to get the gold bolts out which holds the black housing in place, then a 10mm to get it to unhook from under the hood, pull it off and it should be right there where it connects for example mine is VDH5 :tu:

99stackedpowerstroke 05-12-2010 02:22 PM

power hungry performance where im getting my chip thro says its by the master cylinder on a 1994.5-2003

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and they said its a 10 mill bolt

Lange503 05-12-2010 02:34 PM

yeah, bottom driver side of the firewall underneath the hood, below all the fuses and such

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and it is a 10mm bolt under the hood, but in the cab its a 7mm

go buy a telescoping mirror... it makes it easy :tu:

Your code is PMT1, 2 or 3... if your an auto...

99stackedpowerstroke 05-12-2010 07:28 PM

i pulled the cover off on the outside of the fire wall and pulled my whole cpm box out it took like 5 min to pull out and put back in. mine is XLE4, its real simple to do!!!!!

CSIPSD 05-12-2010 08:15 PM

Early 99... XLE... If you get a chance, get a PMT PCM... You will be very happy!

99stackedpowerstroke 05-12-2010 08:30 PM

what would i do just have to pull one out of another truck? what would be the difference in them? power?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

if i bought a php chip adn then did that would i have to have my chip reburnt?

If you chip it talk to Bill, I would have him put PMT tunes on it now.

With the PMT tunes you get better tranny shifting, better stradigy, your cruise light in the dash will work... Its a great upgrade for the E-99 guys.:tu:

do i have to have the pmt in it to have the pmt tunes on my chip? how much does it cost to have the chips reburnt?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and if i have him put the pmt tunes in it what should i tell him it is? pmt1-4? and then do i have to match the pcm to what i tell him?

You dont need a PMT PCM to run a PMT tune... NVK (2000 auto) and PMT (2001 auto) are interchangable, as are XLE (early 99)... You can not run a chip from a 2002 or 2003 in a later or vice versa...

Just talk to Bill when your ready to pull the trigger. PMT1 2 or 3 are all about the same, just minor tweaks and the year went on.

so the chip is why my cruse light isnt working? i sent hours trying to get into that dang dash and checking fuses and wires and relays and everything else :argh::argh:

99stackedpowerstroke 05-13-2010 04:05 PM

does anybody know how much it cost to have a chip reburnt by php?

Lawson 05-13-2010 10:22 PM

dont hold me to it but i think its $30 per tune for mild mods(which u should fall in) and $60 per tune for heavy mods(Aftermarket turbos, HPOP, Injectors, and such) so for 6 new tunes on a mild mod it would be 180 bucks and for heavy it would be 360.... but thats just what i remember from when i bought mine a couple months back

Kyle_KleinSS 05-13-2010 10:23 PM

Anything in the injector area changes im the pmt? Mine has xle4 as well

99stackedpowerstroke 05-14-2010 10:53 AM

so im mild mods? or stock? and from what they are saying nothing is different in the pmc im bout ready get the other pmc.

Lange503 05-14-2010 11:33 AM

if you have an intake, exhaust, etc... you are in mild, if you have a turbo, injectors, nos or propane, then you are heavily modified :c:

99stackedpowerstroke 05-14-2010 05:00 PM

ok thanks im going ta get another pmc monday for free and it works so im excited to get my on th efly chip ordered!!!!

New PCM

I had the computer changed because my old one fried and had a new one reprogrammed. The old PCM number was NVK5 but the new computer doesn't have it written anywhere on it. Would they use the old PCM for the new computer or is there another way of finding it? Frustrating 🙈
