With it chipped all the way up it gets to about 180 - 200 degrees. is that to hot for stock? i dont have trouble keeping it cool on a regular basis, but i wana know when to call it quits when im out rollin coal so i can upgrade my tranny on my own terms... not its... thanks lawson

I would say thats pretty hat at 230 you have to pull over. I could only get mine to 180 on my 140 hp tune and hot rodding it for a bit. Other than that in my daily tune last summer is ran 150. I put in another trucool trans cooler inline with my stock one and I have yet to see anything over 125.

how much was the cooler... and do u think it would b a wise investment?

140 shipped with all the fittings for a super duty. Yes lower trans temps equals longer life. I believe I read somewhere every 20 deg lower doubles fluid life. This is what I bought http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=205

Too cold is as bad as too hot...
Anywhere from 130-200 is fine. Unloaded temps should be 50-90* above air temps. |
i agree with csipsd u dont want it to get to cool and u dont want it to get over 200 or stuff will start going wrong :ouch:
|
your tranny temp should be 20 degrees cooler than the motor
|
so getting another cooler would not be a good idea?
|
if you do get another one, make it smaller one, not something that will push it below 130 on regular basis, i have a suncoast cooler and i have yet to see over 200 hot rodding it down the interstate

that sucsoast is fairly large isnt it
