Your air intake system is exactly the same as mine was. The old filter box came out quite easily, without disturbing the battery, and the installation of the 6637 filter was a breeze.

I got into the mod originally because the tabs on the original filter box broke off, thereby not providing a good air seal around the lid.

Since I've had the 6637 I've had no problems.

Now, I haven't done extensive MPG or HP testing, so I dunno if it helps those issues or not, but it seems to work well. I just need to remember to clean and replace the cloth cover more often :)

Let me know of I can help.

Icebox guy... Dont know your name... Charlie...

Get that intake system OUT of your truck... There was a recall on those years ago due to leaking seals. You can built one as I have seen or get ANYTHING but that factory box out of there...

I would sugest no tube from the CCV intake to the filter, this is how I have mine set up with my modified AFE to my H2e turbo...

I'll see if I can dig up a pic, if not I will take one tonight.

CSIPSD,

Guess I have been lucky in that mine has served me well. Have had a flat cleanable foam Amsoil filter it in for a long long time but getting it out of there is exactly what I am working on doing!!:tu: and I just about have it figured out.

Thanks

Charlie

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I have a similar problem with my '99 intake hose.

See the thread titled "split intake hose"
