glow plugs
my brothers 00 powerstroke needs new glow plugs, i want to do them friday night. since im a cummins mechanic how hard is it to replace a set on that trukc, any tips?
|
its not to hard, im not sure about a SD but i can do a set on an OBS in about 3.5 hours. only thing you might have to do is modify a 10mm socket to get it by the rocker arm.

10mm 1/4 drive deep well and your set.
Remove IC pipes, remove valve covers, remove glow plugs, reinstall glow plugs, reinstall valve covers, reinstall IC pipes... done.... A few things left out there, but if you cant figure out the wire harness and such, maybe you should not be working on a PSD...:w2: |
holy hell that sounds to damn complicated, ive rebuild numarous cummins and gas engines. so you have to pull a bunch of crap just to reach the glow plugs?
|
oh yea, its not that bad really, just time consuming. you do have to move alot of crap but anybody can do it. just have a bottle of beam handy :c:
