13 Flat With Manual And 40 Inchers

How rare would an '03 7.3 liter running 13.00 in the quarter be? With 40 inchers and a manual?

What would that take, 700 HP? 800 HP?

stkdram55 07-14-2008 11:00 PM

no it would take some really good shifting, and yes probably 700 ish HP

Begle1 07-14-2008 11:48 PM

How hard is it to make 700~ish horsepower??

stkdram55 07-14-2008 11:51 PM

in a stroker pretty hard without the Spray, you'd have to ask some guys that know more about the PS then me, but i would assume it would take some time and $$$$$.

dual hpops, and enough nitrous to propel a rocket ship :cp:

You could prolly buy a 2nd gen 24v or 12 valve dodge in good condition and bomb it pretty good for the amount of money your gonna spend making it that fast with that big of a tire. Good custom burn chip $400-$500 Dual HPOP $2000-$3000 Big Injectors $2000-$4500 Turbo or turbo's $2000-$4000 Built engine to hold the power $?....the list goes on. Hard to get a lot of power out of PSD's :argh:

You know you could have bought Danny Elmore's truck a few months ago (although it was an auto it went mid 12's I believe) it's the big orange one from diesel power. Probably woulda been cheaper to buy that than build one.

CSIPSD 07-16-2008 04:28 PM

He was not on 40 too... 37's.

Bigrpower has the best set up yet to go fast with a 7.3, twins, B codes, Oil, and took his lift out. IF you want to go fast, a lift and tires is not in the equasion...

dont forget the manual

Don't think I'm the one interested in the lifted manual Ford, I'm just making sure I wasn't too off base when I was armchair racing an obnoxious poser the other day.

stkdram55 07-16-2008 11:38 PM

nope, any guy who thinks he can run 13's on 40 inchers with a stick shift better have some serious $$$$. I tell them kind of people ill believe it when i see it.

you're not gonna do it with a powerstroke.

How much horsepower can the later 7.3 engines reasonably put out? 500? Is there a dyno-list somewhere?

2500HeavyDuty 07-19-2008 03:34 PM

w/ what mods u talkin about

Blue01F250 07-19-2008 05:02 PM

a PSD on PMR's is limited to about 400 (ISH) and on Forged factory rods about 500-550 (ISH)..

it takes a lot to get there

usually intake, exhaust, bigger innercooler, custom tunes, injectors, turbo, multiple pumps, fuel system, and built trans and that will usually have a 7.3 in the 500's.. just depends on how big each of those components are... once you start getting up there in HP, you need internal bracing (girdle), stronger rods, headstuds, and other internals

right now there is a truck that is selling a motor -- 03f250 I think his name is (the huge red truck) -- and just the built longblock is 10K-15K -- already sold the turbo and other power adders...
