borgwarner s366 sxe

ok so i bought a few parts for my e99 psd manual. i bought single shot hybrid 205/30% in's from full force......actually they sold me a package deal at full force. i had told caylon that a local shop offered me the t4 conversion kit and s366 sxe turbo for $2500 and gave me a money back garuntee that if i wasn't satisfied he would buy it back. i only pull a toyhauler fiver with this truck. at 60 ish mph i'm at 1800 rpm and on the innerstate i'm 2400rpm. told caylon this and he said he could beat that deal. so hybrid injs' 205/30%, irate t4 kit ( not impressed with that) s366 sxe turbo, up pipes and turbine thermal coated like my manifolds are, power hungry tunes in a hydra tuner for $4650 shipped. so i bought it and an adrenaline hpop plus new inj harness's and gasket for the wth factor! took irate 3 weeks to get the up pipes to me, full force sent the wrong turbo and didn't tell me they had a 364.5 either, and found out last night that the hydra tuner has the wrong tunes in it. that on top of fighting that irate t4 kit all the way and not pleased with it still.

so my question is.......has anyone personally ran the s366 and s364.5? i know ( empty) that the s366 in current set up as listed above that the s366 hits 1 psi at 1500 rpm and if you go wot at that point the turbo lights at 1800 and hits 30 psi by 2400 rpm on a small hill. now as i told him before i bought it, i run at 1800 at 60 ish mph while towing so i have heard from 2 guys now with the s364.5 turbos that they spool couple hundred rpm sooner than the s366. this is needed for pulling a camper or such and as i told caylon my e99 turbo made 1 psi by 1200 rpm and lit at 1500 but couldn't safely carry over 26 psi ( egt and shaft rpm).

so anyone have any rpm info on the s364.5?????

should meantion that before all this i swapped everything out with late 99 parts and turbo with bellowed up pipes. had the up pipes thermal coated as well as high flow non ebpv housing and turbine housing. also put the ww2 wheel out of my e99 in it. late 99 intake mani's, non ebpv pedastal and ss 4" dp all on stock e99 hpop and inj's. the e99 turbo is a superior turbo as far as early rpm spool up and egt's btw! just not a lot of support for them out there. i will sell all these parts when i get time along with the dp tuner i had with it.

stock split shot inj's. just purred so i let it warm up to 180* then took it for a drive. i have a mile or so before i get on pavement with some hills. the tunes are def for my ecu now! stock mode is what the dp tuner was in 80hp tow mode before so major improvement. throttle is a bit too sensitive like the dp tunes so need to have that turned down a bit and when i push in the clutch the idle drops and hangs a bit. maybe that's a by product of the extra sensitive tps? anyway put it in 6th gear and dropped to 53 to 55 mph so 1500 ish rpm and then wot. it stammered a sec or two then within 100 ish rpm came out, lit and pulled to 30 psi by 1900 to 2k rpm so very pleased with that. let off at 30 psi as i am stock valve spring, push rods and head bolts. i bet the 364.5 would light faster and spool with better but so far i'm happy with this or will be once the tps is turned down a bit. after doing that i came home and let it idle to cool down before shutting it off and now the idle has a 100 to 150 rpm surge to it. almost sounds like each cyl hits twice before the surge. didn't when i first turned it on and there in all tune settings, tried that, not horrible just annoying and was't like that with stock inj's. it did have a 50ish rpm surge stock and i know they all do so i wonder if the really sensitive tps could do this? all in all waaaay better then the tunes that were for a 2000 ecu! lol

well it turned out to be the tune. got 1023 tunes and no more surge. i can now say after towing my fifthwheel camper that it spools to 35 psi very easily at 65 to 75 mph on command. very pleased , well worth the money.
