99 F350 Service engine light sudden acceleration, stalling
 

I have a 1999 Ford F350 Crew cab dually with about 130K miles on the engine" the "Service engine" light started coming on, then it would run choppy, then the light would go off the engine will accelerate while driving down the road, if it's idling when the light goes off, it starts idling rough. I put a new fuel pump in it, and dropped the tank and found the pick up tube disintegrated in the tank, and I cleaned the filters in the pickup, and put a new sock on it. It is still doing the same thing. I am going to check the fuel pressure tomorrow, but, I did take the filter off, and got a strong 3/8" stream which filled the canister quickly, so I doubt there is a fuel pressure problem. SOmetimes when I pull up to a traffic light, the service engine light will go out, and it will die, when I start it back up, the light is back on. Any ideas? I know one of you Powerstroke gurus will be able to tell me what is going on, Lol :humm:

Go to auto zone and have them check the SES light out. they will scan it for free for you. I guarantee whatever is causing the light to come on, is also causing your truck to stall.
