NEED SUGGESTIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
I AM ABOUT TO BUY A 2000 FORD F250 DIESEL 7.3L , HOWEVER I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE TRUCJK WHEN THIS IS IN "NEUTRAL" THE REVOLUTIONS GOES UP & DOWN, SOMETIMES IT STOPS WHEN I TURN INTO "DRIVE" THE REVOLUTIONS GO OK AND DOESNT STOP
I HAVE NOTICED THE THE AIR FILTER IS IN BAD CONDITIONS AND I WILL CHECK TOMORROW THE DIESEL FILTER WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE ENGINE, MAYBE THEY HAVENT CHANGED NEVER... DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM ON REVOLUTIONS WHEN ITīS IN PARKING & NEUTRAL???? THANKS FOR YOUR PROMPT RESPONSE, I NEED TO AMKE SURE WHAT GOING ON BEFORE I PAY FOR IT.... |
Mine was doing that cause my injectors were sticking, I bought some Hot Shot Secret diesel oil additive helped a lot after about 75 to 100 miles but it was not enough I also changed the oil in high pressure oil pump (that's what feeds your injectors there's a video on YouTube shows how to....simple but a little time consuming) added z max what a huge difference in idling and performance. Not 100% effective if you're injectors are too far gone but a really good step in the right direction.

Turn off your caps lock!

Powerstrokes have elevated idle and they will rev up and down if idled
|
If u tap the brake while it revs higher it should drop to normal rpms
|
Superdutys do when they are cold. The obs does not have an elevated idle

Unplug the EOT sensor and see if it settles down it worked for me the EOT controls idle, gpr and other stuff might have a hard start on cold days so plug it in. Not a fix but working toward it.
