looking for any info on the 2002 7.3. I haven't heard anything bad except fuel mileage. What are its weak points, what can I expect? The truck I'm looking at has 290, 000 on it, is that too many or just scratching the surface for this engine?

 

The 7.3 is pretty solid engine. Depending on what it is mileage can be about 15-20 usually. At 290k depending on how is been taken care of it should be in OK shape. But you could see things like injectors or hpop getting weak, not to mention the rest of the power train
