New fuel pump no fuel pressure
 

Sorry for the long post. I chose dieselbombers because you guys seem very reputable. So I bought a 02 7.3 Lariet they said it wouldn't go over 45 and I started it up after it had been sitting for two years and ran fine, after awhile it would start to sputter around 2500 rpm range and blow white smoke! then gradually lose power, so I ran around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to ask and inquire about it, for I have no knowledge about diesels, new ones at least, I narrowed it down after a few misdirecting leads to be fuel deficiency being that the pump sounded like a dying cat. So I did fuel pump/filter, I noticed even with that still no fuel pressure, just a little spurt at first then drizzle as I watched from the fuel bowl. Please help before I burn this ****** to the ground. No check engine light, or any other type of light, and no codes. Please help.

Also it only did it a handful of times and I would let it sit then start it and idle and it seemed to work itself out

Might be the fittings at the tank, I think those can get plugged

Soo drop the tank your telling me? Is there a in tank filter? Another inline filter I missed? It's really got me stumped... Is there a way I can post a video on here to show you what I have going on?

there is no intake filter or inline filter. there is some fitting with some screens in them i think that can get plugged

So I'm guessing shoot some air in the lines? I'll try that and see if anything works to blow that stuff out then purge the system again, is there any other spot to bleed the lines other than on the back of the bowl???

Could disconnect it at the pump. There is a mod to do that deletes all that shit at the tank so you don't have to worry about it again but I can't remember the name

What do you mean shit at the tank? The screens?

There are some things other then a fuel line that go into the tank

Well I blew air straight into the line from the back of the pump useing just the chuck itself, aside from my buddy walking away after he was done linking the hose and me getting diesel and dirt all over me, I was doing 90 no problem, it still feels a bit powerless and when in park or neutral it shutters just a tiny bit, enough that if you weren't mechanically inclined you wouldn't notice, any suggestions?

Ok. In the tank. The fuel pick up lines have screens at the start. Blowing air backwards does work FOR SHORT TERM. It is best to drop the tank, remove the fuel pick up tubes and clean them OUT SIDE OF THE TANK. Also look into the tank. There is a lip that circles around the pick up tube on the bottom of the tank. There may be some crap piled there. Good idea to clean that as well. This is a two fold fix. Also. in the bottom of the filter housing. Look for contaminants. If there is some contaminants there. Remove the torx bolts and clean the bottom of the bowl. I would also run a fuel injector cleaner threw the fuel system. If you have heavy contaminants in the system that you have cleaned out. I would run an extra does of cleaner.

FOR EXAMPLE. Fill the tank full. then run one (1) can of seafoam. Run tank empty. Then fill again and run another tank of seafoam. This is 2 cans consecutively.

My personal truck. I run cleaner once a month. This helps keep things clean.
