Dually bed/box question
Hey guys,
I have been looking around and I cant seem to find the answer to my question..... I have a 2001 F350 extra cab Dually pick-up. The bed is pretty much junk on it. Can I just get a single rear wheel bed and bolt the dually fenders onto it? I have been told yes and no, but nobody can seem to specify as to why for either answer... |
Been a while since I looked closely, but the beds are derived from the same sheetmetal. I think the wheel openings need to be cut larger as well as lining up the holes so the duals dont scrub...
Not a coffee break repair but dooable.. |
what do you mean by "lining up the holes"?
I am planning on a 4" lift so I can prob skip the trimming of the wheel well. I found a 2013 bed cheap any idea if would fit? |
The bed will fit, but there are some differences in the body lines. Nothing too serious. By lining up the holes I meant it's tricky to line up the dually fender's holes in the new sheet metal without drilling 3/4" holes for a 8mm bolt..
There are very few differences in the chassis of the superduty's that need to be noted. For all their advancements they really haven't changed a whole lot... |
