no boost

I have a 2000 F350 crew cab with the 7.3 it has felt as though I do not have any boost. Looking into it I replaced my line going from my EBPS to the exhaust manifold, no change. So I unplugged the EBPS just to see the difference and again no change so I changed the EBPS and again no change. Any ideas?

Pressure test it to see if you have a leak

wolfnexus77 03-04-2014 06:49 PM

What or how is the best way to test it for a leak?

Do you have a boost gauge?

wolfnexus77 03-05-2014 05:28 AM

I do not have one. Can you rent one?

I'm having the same problem. Check your intercooler pipes, I had a hole in the driver side pipe. I fixed that abd it helped a little, but still don't have the power it used to. Any more ideas?

Make sure the wastegate / actuator on the turbo are functionally properly and not sticking

wolfnexus77 08-04-2014 11:41 AM

Is there a way to make sure the waste gate/ actuator will not stick?

Jayalon_7.3 08-04-2014 12:55 PM

There is a rod that connects the actuator to the wastegate. When you build boost, the rod should move and the wastegate should open Get a buddy under the hood and have him watch the rod. If it does not move, either the wastegate is sticking or you have issues with the actuator. In this case, work the wastegate loose by hand, clean and lube everything in that area, and test it again
