abs,overdrive flashes,no speed,no miles
My 1999 F350 has abs light stay on. The overdrive flashes, miles do not move, speed needle does not move, miles do not move. I changed the abs speed sensor on top of rear axle 2X did not help at all. WHAT IS MY ISSUE ?? What do I change next to try and get miles/speed needle to work?? THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE !!!

I had the exact same problem. My OD light would flash on the shifter and the speedometer would be dead. I replaced the rear wheel speed sensor on the forward side of the rear pumpkin ($12) and it fixed everything. It took me longer to find it than it did to replace it!

This is a pretty good picture although it may not be the exact one. It is held on with a 17 mm if I remember. It is on the rear differential at the top of the housing with a wire harness plugged into it. Every auto parts store should have them though. |

I had a similar issue on my 99 a few years ago. The previous owner had put so many taps on the fuse box under the dash that the fuses were loose in the holders. I ended up replacing the fuse box with one from a junk yard and it cleared up all my issues.
Took me a while to figure that one out because the fuse would show connectivity with a test light when i would look in the driveway, but then rattle loose when running down the road. Dealership thought i needed an outrageously overpriced GEM module. I want to say it was the abs fuse, but its been a while. Had the exact same symptoms as yours though. New fuse panel was $50 at a pick and pull in NC. |
