I need help!

I have a 2000 f-350 with a 7.3 . When I put my foot in it after a few seconds the "check engine light" comes on and it seems to loose power, it kinda smothers out and runs sick. if I switch the key off then back on the "check engine light " goes out. it seems to run fine until I press the accelerator down pretty firmly. I have replace the cam position censor and this didn't help, also it doesn't show a failure code at all. anyone have any ideas??? oh... I have replaced the fuel pump and dropped the tank and cleaned the screens,

Your running out of high pressure oil

diablo2dusk 01-19-2014 10:50 PM

may be your injection pump.

Powerstrokes dont have injection pumps

That makes since but what would cause a loss of high pressure oil??????

The 2000 engine runs AD code injectors and they love oil. Your oil pump could be weak. Is it chipped or have any programing?

not that I am aware of.... it blew two high pressure hoses a few months ago and I had a hose made using high pressure hydrolic hose

I'm sure it is all stock.

Your pump might be getting weak, need a scanner to see
