Trade a 2004 f150 for 2001 f250?

Well I have been wanting a diesel for a long time but not too sure about it. I have a 2004 f150 fx4 with the 5.4 triton 3 valve. 125xxx miles for a 2001 f250 fx4 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. It has roughly around 185xxx+ miles on it and its been lifted. I would really just like to know what are the pros and cons to switching from a gas to a diesel?

I sold my 04 f150 and bought a 01 f250 7.3. My f150 started having problems around 200k and had never stopped breaking down. In my opinion the f250 and the engine will outlast the 150 by about 300k miles without any major problems. In my case I was doing a lot of towing with my f150 and needed something heavier but I am more than happy I made the switch.

I switched from a gasser to a diesel and wouldn't go back now unless I absolutely had to. I have an 03 F-250 and didn't have to do much to it till I hit the 316k mark. I had the trans and the turbo rebuilt and it runs amazing. Usual body dings for a 10 year old truck which I'm working on removing but that's normal. The only big issue I've heard of is the auto locking hubs have a vacuum problem and sometimes don't work. I solved that by putting on warn premium manual hubs and capping the vacuum lines. haven't had a problem since. Overall I don't think you can go wrong, the 7.3L is a great engine.
