What transmission oild should I use?

I need to change my tranny oil, is there a better oil I can use besides just what everyone else uses? Is there a synthetic or a particular brand or grade I should use? My tranny has several upgrades, I dont drive it the easiest either. I also want to go longer periods of time without oil changes. If you recommend an oil, tell me why you like that oil.

I run amsoil red cap ATF
From all the tranny mods she shifts hard but at race setting its the smoothest ever. According to the guy that built it amsoil is all I'm allowed to run because of how good it is(warranty) only problem from that is its price.

NAPA sells amsoil for 8 dollars a quart takes ~16-18 to fill our trucks depending on either if you have e40d or 4r100 making total cost just to fill it ~$250 but its well worth it to not have to change oil as often and raise the allotted temp before it burns...

This is just what I know though( very limited knowledge) so if anyone else has .02 to put in

Full synthetic, here's the link: ATF
It's the first one listed. I just posted a study on this stuff 2 days ago.

16 quarts for the AT transmission ? Whoa. As an added information. the manual uses 6 and another 2.5 for the transfer case. I used Mobil full synthetic ATF that had the Ford rating on it, forgot the correct fluid name but I know it was the most expensive that Autozone carried but they had it on sale then. Someone here told me that it can be used for the automatic as well.

And at the Ford parts counter, they said 27/qt for the Motorcraft version. Stealership indeed

It doesnt really matter which brand it is. Synthetic runs slightly cooler (generally), and will last longer. Quality wise, as long as it has Mercon V specified on it, you are good to go. The manual calls for regular Mercon, but that is outdated, and now the proper fluid is Merc V. Ik that Mobil 1 full synthetic is popular along with schaffers and the Motorcraft brand. I don't know much about the amsoil, but I have heard that it runs much hotter than other synthetics.
