What kind of guages do you suggest?

Isspro or Autometer. You pay for the name for the Autometer ones, but they have some really cool styles. Isspro are just as good of quality as Autometer, but cheaper.
I recommend getting your gauges from Clay at RiffRaff. Great prices and customer service.

^ that is a link to his gauges page. Click on the package option and it will show you some really good priced options. Boost, pyro, and trans temp are the most common three. There are a ton of other options for gauges such as oil temp, fuel pres. and coolant temp. But they really aren't necessary unless you want to know exactly what your truck is doing at all times.

As you can see in my signature I have gauges from banks, they work fine. My pyro makes a buzzing noise, dont know why. But i bought them before i knew anything about them and over payed quite a bit for them. :dang:

We deal mostly with Isspro. We can set you up.

Just ordered a set of gauges. i went ahead and got the autometer cobalt digital set.
so now that that is done what are the best settings for a php 6 position?

caedo 03-23-2013 12:36 AM

Ahhh! :jump:
congrats, you just saved your truck from doom, if you watch the gauges and listen to them anyways haha
So settings... what all do you use your truck for?

strokin7.3:) 03-23-2013 12:47 AM

It pulls a 40 ft gooseneck with either a backhoe dozer or a skidsteer and mini excavator.
the skidsteer and mini ex are on the trailer together a lot .
but i would love to smoke some prius owners out lol :)

Alright, so alot of heavy towing.
I would suggest the following tunes.
1. Stock
2. Extremely Heavy Tow
3. Heavy Tow or Moderate Tow (you decide, or talk to the guys at PHP)
4. 80DD
5. Whisper or High Idle (also a decision that depends on what you want)
6. 140 Extreme (for the Prius owners :bat: )

Idk if you saw it, but they have a whole list of their tunes on this page: Power Hungry Performance - Phoenix™ Chip

Ps. Dont tow in your 140 tune, you will screw your tranny before you can blink. :scare2:

Will the 6 speed trans hold up to the 140 tune pretty well?

caedo 03-23-2013 01:10 AM

It should, I think your clutch will be fine with stock injectors and no load. But bump up one or the other, and you probably better look into an upgraded clutch. I aint got no advice for you there though, Iv never owned a stick diesel, just a little audi and an old gasser. But just running your 140 unloaded will be fine. Pick a high gear and let the coal roll :w2:
But expect to pay the difference in fuel and watch your pyro. Never shall you let it exceed 1300. 1200 is pushing it.
