2003 f250 idles fine but sputters in reverse then has full power. Please help

2003 f250 7.3l. We were out plowing and when you put the truck in reverse it will "chug" even with the pedal all the way down and then after 2-3 seconds will come out of it and will have full power. Replaced the CPS but that did nothing . Started doing it in forward but not very frequent. It does happen everytime in reverse. I can only find info about stalling out on the internet which this doesn't do. Any help would be appreciated.

Curious, when it does it going forward does it drop the RPMS off and almost act like its dying? Also when kicking it into reverse does it loose all power and just spit and spudder? My 99' would drive just fine for probably 5 miles then I'd lose all power. I thought it was in my tank so I pulled it and cleaned it. (did find trash and trashy fuel) put it back together with better fuel. Would still do it. Come to find out Ford had a recall on the Cam shaft sensor. I'm not sure if this is the same problem as you're having with you rig or if the sensor even has any issues on a 03 compared to 99. But thats a thought.

On the sending unit inside of the tank there is a white canister looking piece it has clips that hold it together it will come apart ( be very careful when taking apart) inside the canister there are two filters remove the filters and clean them very well reassemble and see if it helps the problem.

It almost sounds as if your TC is locking up when switching gears then unlocking after a few seconds. I think this is a transmission problem not fueling.
