Make sure the ignition leads, are clean, and spray them with Damp Start. This can be an unaccepted problem and it has an easy fix. Extreme cold weather is hard on cars,do you keep it in a garage or outside?

Also 1 more question on this subject. I was told possibly an oil pressure issue? These dont fire unless there is sufficient oil pressure? Is there a way to test for this one if thats the case? I doubt if the dash gage will work correctly during cranking.

You are correct that the trucks need 500psi ICP to fire the injectors.... However, your dash gauge is low pressure oil and you need to be looking at high pressure oil.. Need a scanner to see it while cranking...

You dont have a Glow plug relay, you have a glow plug control module. And it has gone out on you.

RockAuto has them, for about $160 bucks or so. Replace it and it will start fine.

There is a glow plug relay on this truck.

If you have an Excursion, there is no glow plug relay...

There is an intake air heater relay, which has nothing to do with cold start.

Excursions are equipted with an GPCM, not a GPR.

Cali emmission trucks are also equipted with a GPCM and not a GPR. If your getting codes telling you you have 6 glow plugs out, then you have a GPCM and not a GPR.
