major issue?
ok guys im working on an 01 7.3l powerstroke im doing new injector sleeves. i drained the oil and noticed an issue but wasnt allarmed yet i have a 10 quart oil pan and it only filled 3/4 and these trucks useually hold 15quart i got the driver bank all done with no issues but when i yanked the passenger rearmost injector the hole filled completly up with oil then drained into the cylander has anyone ran into this or know what could be wrong?

you didnt drain the oil rail b4 pullin injectors, install injectors remove gps cover holes AND heads with towels and be prepared for a mess lol crank it over and reinstall gps and continue like nothing happened... you may try puttin valve covers on with one bolt to keep mess down maybe...

I always put the valve covers back on with a bolt in the top and bottom... THen crank it over... The fluids will shoot out of the cylinders with some good force... If you just put one bolt in then, they could flex the valve covers...

last time i pulled mine i took a full size towel and draped across whole thing it still made a bit of mess but WAY better than nothin at all lmfao:argh:

i went ahead and vaced all the oil out of the cylanders my budy just pulls the glow plugs and cranks that way to get the oil out, he even said sometimes that he just reinstalles everything and it starts up just fine in some cases just smokes alot till it burns the oil out
