7.3 rebuild and build
 

So driving my truck a little to hard a couple months ago (full throttle for 5or6 miles) when i stopped had a bad nocking noise. Checked a bunch of stuff changed an injector and still had the nock. Did a compression check (probably should have started there but didnt have the adapter) 350psi in 7 cylinders 100psi in #7. So i figure time to do a rebuild. My question is what do i need to do to bullet proof the motor for more HP later? I figured rebuild kit from ford, forged rods, ARP head studs.... thanks for the info
btw im new to Diesel motors so know very little about it

Just curious, what kinda rpms were you seeing during this 5 mile journey?? :humm:

Im not sure. Wasnt watching like I should have been, im used to my old gas trucks that just bounce off the limiter and everything is fine.
