2001 F350 7.3 maybe tranny issues??
Was woundering if anyone has had a problem like im having. The other day I was coming back from the race track pulling my trailer and car and I notice when OD shifted it seemed like i had to get into the gas alot more just to make engine respond. Maybe converter? OD going bad? Tranny fuild level is good. Dosent smell burnt and looks clean. After unhooking i drove it home and same thing after it gets into OD and if you stay around 40 to 50 mphs seems like it just stay there until you have to mash the gas to get it to do anything. I have a TS 6 pos chip in it. Ive tried it 0n 50 hp as well and same result. Same as in stock mode as well. Truck shifts great and pulls very good. I just started to notice this flat spot around 40 to 50 mphs after OD kicks in. Im just woundering is there any senors or anyhing that anyone has tried to fix this problem or is it just going to be a rebulit on tranny and new Conventer? Also it started smoking in the mornings on crank up blowing a little white smoke.. Could injectors cause this.. Thanks for any info..

256k miles mostly none pulling miles. Just installed ts chip about 2 months ago. Other mods just straight exhaust nothing else. Haven't checked boost levels or egt. Is that something I can check without taking it to a shop? If so what do I need?
I would recomend you pull the chip until such time as you install a EGT, Boost and trans temp gauge. |
agreed pulling with a chip and no guages is like running blind never a good idea.

Why are you running a chip, without gauges? You have no idea what your egt's are, and when adding power via a chip, then towing I bet you are seeing EGT's well into and above the danger range.

if you get gauges go isspro they are expensive but they are worth it.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- take your truck to the shop let them look at it they shouldn't charge you anything to look at it . id get it done sooner than later the longer your drive it the worse it could get |

Is there a code scanner that can be hooked up to the 2001 F350 7.3? I dont know crap about diesels as u can see. ---AutoMerged DoublePost---

More then likely there is a trans issue, but without scanning it its hard to say. With that amount of miles on it, if its the stock tranny.

for the gauges you will only reach 20 psi max on boost and etg exhaust gauge AND THE MAX TEMP YOU WANT TO GO IS 1200 DEG anything over it your going to break something. and a tranny temp gauge wouldn't hurt
