2002 F350, Help with a couple of issues.
 

Hello all,
So I just got a 2002 F350 Powerstroke. Yeah it is not perfect and does have a few issues I've got to address. 1st off the front wheels are cock eyed I take it I've got to replace the ball joints to correct this issue?

The other issue is my heater, I'm pretty sure the heater core has got a leak...because after I bought the truck the hoses to the heater core where both disconnected. Anyone got a pic or diagram of how both these hoses are supposed to be connected?

This truck also has the stock muffler on it. Wanted to open it up and put a straight through down pipe I guess their called. Can I do this straight up, or does it need to have a chip/tuner too to make it work correctly with the removal of the stock muffler?

your best bet on the exaust get a turbo back exaust you can get complete for like 250-400 bucks, the heaters should only fit one way one in front of the pass side head mid way down and then one on top of the water pump ill try to grab a look later when i get to my truck and let you know top or bottom for the wp one on the firewall

The heater hoses are attached to the heater core, just need to know where the other side of the two hoses go attached to the engine. A diagram or pic would be helpful.

Also someone mentioned to me that if I just replace the exhaust (turbo back) only it would not function right because of the reduced back pressure. They stated that I would need a chip to have it work correctly. I'm assuming it would cause some kind of damage to the engine if I did not add the chip also?

Dont listen to people who know nothing.

You can do an exhaust with the truck being completely stock. The turbo makes all the back pressure you need.

Great, I'll start with the exhaust then. As it stands I think its got a 3 inch mandrel bent pipe with a stock muffler. Any recommendations as to what to put on there? I was just going to cut the dang thing off and maybe later put a high flow muffler on it. Thought?

I would not waste your time messing with any of the stock stuff.

Just pick up a full turbo back system. They can be had for right at $300 bucks.
