Hello everyone, My ol' girl gettin tired going through about a gallon of oil every oil change :( not much is lost to leakage, my drive way has very little oil on it btw. I'd like some input on a rebuild I'm gett'n ready for. I have a early 99 F-350 w/4r100 my question is how much hp can I get out of it safely and still drive it daily? I.E. parts and mods as far as I know its not a pmr motor but I haven't check yet... I do tow now and then... The only thing I've done to it is a turbo back 4 inch exhaust, edge evolution but I'll be buying a dp tuner with new single shots tho, I have gauges tranny, pryo, and boost. My tranny has been built with a triple lock and other mods for towing as well...

First question you need to ask yourself is budget...
Then the HP level you would like... Then the use of the truck... For a daily driver I would go with AC injectors with 100% nozzles, a 38R or H2e turbo (H2e in your case with the E99 set up...) and drive the hell out of it. Before you start getting into a new motor I would do a compression check, if its about 360 or so and pretty even, keep driving it. A gallon of oil every 3-5k is not great, but not that bad, I would check for any leaks, and make sure you dont simply have bad injector O rings that are leaking oil into the fuel system. |
hmm seems like alot mine eats about a quart or leaks it thanks to my blubber tube

Thank you for the info...

all my trucks use about a gallon of oil every 8,000 miles with my 95 uses probably more and has a lot more blow by. i've run it like that for the last 100k and its fine and gets the best fuel milage of all 3 trucks...i'd personally run it til it blows but if you got money to blow, rebuild it!
