dome light issues?

the lights will come on if i turn the knob. the lights will come on when you open the front passenger door. doesnt come on with any other door. what seems to be my issue and how do i fix it?

nobody knows anything? this driving me nuts

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

would the missing door chime cure this?

on each door jam there is a small push button type switch. it might be there....

checked them first. they are fine. only the pass front door makes the lights come on, even if you swap the switches from different doors

If the switches are good and light is good, then it must be in the wiring.

where would a person that is scared of wiring and no money start to track this problem down and fix start?
:humm:

First i would check if voltage is actually reaching the switch. If it is then follow the switched wire, look for any signs of chafing or bare wire. If the buzzer were to be the missing link, than either none or all the doors would work, its more than likely a wire that has been rubbed wrong or something.

a wire rubbed wrong would keep 3 doors from working? any idea where to start looking? anyone have a diagram of the wiring for the domelight?

Haveastroke 08-05-2012 11:59 AM

found it. it was a junction of wires under the sill plate on the driver's door. it was corroded. i simply cut out the corroded section and put it back together. now they all work fine now
