blue haze!!!
hey guys, im new to this whole p stroke thing (im an idi guy) just picked up a 96 ext cab short box stroker, runs like a top, first thing in the morning shot of blue, ( which is normal for any diesel ive ever seen), but when its warm if i let it idle for say 5 mins or more it starts to get a blue haze out the tail pipe, and as soon as you shift a few gears it goes away, it also seems to use roughly one litre of oil every 2 weeks, when its warm the the OP dummy gauge flutters at idle, but it runs to good for the injectors not to have oil, it has 200k kms on it, has the 6637 filter, any direction would be greatly appreciated, maybe injector o rings? ipr? i dont know where to start, i changed fuel filter and didnt notice any oil in the bowl, and the oil has 2000 kms on it:humm:

if the gauge is fluttering, that's a low pressure oil pump issue... If you didn't see any oil in the fuel filter, I wouldn't put your bets on injector orings... Check your downpipe for oil in there... I think you might have unrelated issues here with the gauge and the burning oil...
If I'm correct wouldn't it run like crap if the OP was low? Or does it have to be really low? Oil in downpipe would mean hot side of turbo was pooched? I'll have a look tomo? It just runs way too good to seem like its a huge issue lol
probably injectors mine did the same untill i got new ones
My oil pressure guage fluttered at idle only until I replaced the sensor.
I was just going to say replace the sensor and see what that does. It was less the $8 at napa
It could be the turbo seals... those are pretty prone to failing and causing a blue haze...
i will stick my eye in the dp after work and see if shes oily, if it needs turbo seals is that a big job? can it be done in the comfort of my living room lol? is there a kit to buy?
I haven't had to do them... Getting the turbo off isn't fun but there are worse projects... Not sure if you park your truck in your living room so I'm no help there... Riffraff for orings if ya need them...
