Glowplugs
can u hurt the motor if you have 4 new glow plugs on one side and the 4 old ones on the other.
|
Why did you just not replace them all at once??? An no it will not hurt the motor but if you were changing the glow plugs due to hard cold starts, its still going to not start good untill you get those old ones replaced. A buddy of mine has ran his truck with bad glow plugs for years no problems but wont start unless plugged in

i know, it started to rain and i didnt want to get water in the motor. It wont start now at all. even pluged in, i just put 2 new batteries in it thinking that was the problem but its still acting like their dead, what would cause it to act like that. any help would be very apriceated

get the other glow plugs in and make sure everything in plugged back in and try again, Check the battery cables aswell

No, you can't hurt the motor with 4 new glow plugs and 4 old plugs... Is the truck cranking? Is it cranking over fast enough?

Rebel7088; i changed glow plugs on 1 bank because after testing all 8 cyl' only 2 on the left bank tested bad(no continuity), later when cold start problem returned i (w/friend) tested the GPR and found the GPR was faulty (i thought if the "wait to start light" came on then off after 7-9 sec') all was well (stupid me:scare2:). i have since replaced the GP's on the right bank (back was up to it, and 1 tested dead). sooo many reasons for not starting, good luck with diagnosis, that part of wrenching drives a man to wanna shoot somethin..
