Need help 95 7.3

I got a 95 7.3 turbo diesel.
It stopped cranking when got so I replaced IPR orings

Well now it just turns over no crank
Would fire off with ether
Now the wts light stopped working
Tach also
It turns over but won't crank even with ether..

Hpop is full.
One battery was shorted out also.

All fuses are good and swapped relays

It had a TS chip but I took it off to see if would help but no change..

Any help!!!!!

DON'T USE EITHER!!!!!! BAD THINGS HAPPEN. have you put a scanner on it? any codes?

centexhogdogger 12-27-2011 06:24 PM

Only reason was to get it to bust off
But now nothing
I know ether kills compression and can mess up things

I guessing PCM is bad causing no air into engine and no fuel

fordornothing 12-27-2011 06:51 PM

wait. there is no WTS light? the fuel heater might have shorted out. on the SD's it blows fuse #30. that fuse is PCM power too. look and see what fuse is for the PCM. and do a continuity test on every fuse. don't just look at them.

95powersmoker 12-27-2011 06:56 PM

Yep, Check your fuses... I believe it's fuse 22 on the OBS...

centexhogdogger 12-27-2011 07:51 PM

No blown fuses I checked with test light and multi meter

95powersmoker 12-27-2011 08:00 PM

Underhood fuses as well as dash fuses?

centexhogdogger 12-27-2011 08:08 PM

Neither
I check every fuse every way twice

95powersmoker 12-28-2011 08:06 AM

I would still unplug the fuel bowl and replace the fuse.

You removed the chip?

I would bet the key was on, or in the ignition... and you fried the PCM.

centexhogdogger 12-28-2011 09:49 AM

Nope had key off and out the ignition
And cables off when I did it

I guess I dont understand why you would replace the IPR O rings because it stopped cranking?

Your issue is an electronic one, not a mechanical one. Get a scanner on it (betting it will not comunicate with a dead PCM) and go from there.

centexhogdogger 12-28-2011 01:25 PM

IPR o rings will make it hard to crank when hot.

Sure enough they was cracked

But this problem now is totally different then that one
Thats y I change em!!!!

No... They will not.

Maybe a hard to start, but IPR O rings will have no effect on how the truck cranks.

You do know that the center O ring is always split on the IPR, its that way factory.

Get a scanner on it and go from there.

I worked at a diesel shop and also I contacted a high end shop
And they the ones who told me about tha orings

CSIPSD 12-28-2011 08:28 PM

What I am getting at is Be clear when you are discribing things... Changing IPR o rings will have NO effect on how the truck cranks...0.

That is up to the starter and batterys.

Can bad IPR o rings make the truck hard to start, sure... however without a scanner to check ICP pressures and duty cycle your just pissing money away to put new o rings on.
