hpop/injector theory?
could a new hpop expose some weak injectors that didn't seem weak when running with the old hpop? Just put in the new hpop, and now that I got the initial problem found, she runs, but runs rough. Kind of like I need to switch tanks... once it is wrapped up, it runs smooth, but at idle, and just off idle, she sounds like she is about to die. If I take off from a stop, without giving her some pedal, she dies. The amount of pedal is less when I turn up my chip, and high idle is smooth as glass. Any ideas?

I think I'd spend money on a scanner before I spent money throwing parts at it... Does unplugging the ICP sensor at idle change anything?

the roughness didnt exist before installing the new hpop? any smoke at idle?

Check for codes, ICP, and IPR and also check the injector wiring harness for the valve covers. They can get brittle and break and then you start having running issues.

I just find it odd that the only real parts change of significance was the hpop. does anyone know the voltages that should be being sent back from the icp?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- upon further discovery, it is somewhere in the uvch on the pass. side front. I guess next step is to pull the valve cover and see if I can isolate it to one injector or the gasket, or the harness connector, or the harness itself... BTW, it died when I unplugged the icp sensor. I think that is what is wrong with my other psd too... even though I already replaced the uvch's once already. |
turned out that I had a smashed connector in the plug that plugs into the outside of the valve cover gasket. the wire that sends a return signal back from the injectors to the idm... pulled the terminal out of the plug, re-expanded it, and what do you know, she purrs like a stray cat:jump:
