Another axle swap
I've got a 97 f250, I found a dana 60 out of a 95 f350... Same gear ratio as my truck... It comes with everything... Track bar and sway bar and all the brackets... Complete hub to hub... Any trucks or tips... Or heads up?
its pretty straight forward. the only trouble i had was getting the trac bar to line up. we had to build a drop bracket for it. i didnt worry about hooking up the swap bar.
when i did this on my 94, i had to drill for the sway bar brackets. it's really not hard at all. just a little time consuming.
Will I run into an problems with the drive shaft? I heard some people had to shorten theirs a couple inches....? If that was the case would it be safe for all the parts to be driven with out a front drive shaft, so I could get her down to the drive shaft shop
oh right. i forgot about that. the 250 just has a single u joint on each end. the 350 has a double knuckle deal on one end. it worked fine for me because i had a t case out of a one ton in it already. but to answere your question. yes. it won't hurt anything.

Re: Another axle swap
I never had that problem. But don't hook up the drive line and drive it you will be fine.
^ why didn't you have that problem did younger an ae from the same year or how did you go around the problem?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- You get an* not younger an |
my pickup is a 95 the axle i used is from a 96.
there must be a difference between the 94 and 95 drive shafts then... my axle was from a 96 too.
also did a swap in my 85, put a 90 axle in it and the driveline went in just fine.
