new to psd and have an issue

first off I have been researching this issue for two weeks now and have yet to find a solution
1997 f350 2wd extra xcab Auto 332000 km (not miles)
background on the truck is it sat for a year and before that it had a long crank issue before it would start

**NO CODES**
in the last two weeks I have changed the
cps
oil change twice
new fuel filter
injector orings
cleaned the return screen
glow plugs
changed out all the diesel in the tanks
ohm out the injectors and glow plugs
replaced the outer valve cover gasket wirring harnes plugs
starter and battery's
straight piped exhaust
disconected ebpv
Now on to the issue

it still has a long crank time (fuel pressure is up to 70 psi after 3 seconds)
ipr and ics readings are in line with the specs
after it starts (about 15 mins of on off cranking) it will barley idle and runs extremeley rough and there is no throttle response whatso ever
let it warm up for 15 20 mins and I can drive it down the road maxing out at 20 kmh
and there is loads of blue diesel smelling somke out the tail pipe
keep driving till at full operating temp and it will drive fine runs good but still is rough at idle but no where near as bad as earlier

any more ideas would be welcomed

Cheers

I would run some tests on the injectors... Sounds like you have a scan tool. Does it run CCT and buzz tests?

Malak 05-26-2011 08:02 PM

I have run cct and buzz tests multiple times

today I had let the truck sit for 2 days and then ran the buzz test again and this time I had #7 very quite buzz but it still passed the test

I am using auto enginuity and the snap on modis

I am gonna try throwing a injector in it and see what happens

oh yeah and I tried a freinds idm today too no change :argh:

How does it start if you plug it in? Have you checked compression?

Malak 05-26-2011 08:57 PM

pluging in doesnt make a differnce

I am waiting for a adapter to do the compresion test

:humm: Do you have boost/egt gauges on the truck? Anything out of the norm?

Blue smoke is burning oil somewhere... Have you been losing oil that you can notice on the dipstick?

A muted buzz indicates a problem.

i got sent the wrong injector yesterday so i never got to try it and see if there was any differnce

but i did pull the soliniods off the injectors and measure the plates for clearance and there was none
on any of them so i replaced the order for 8 injectors

my 800 dollar truck just cost more then it did to buy it lol

It may be too late now since it sounds like you already ordered the injectors...

But here are my thoughts... If you have confirmed fuel and oil to the heads. I would pop those injectors out, send them off to a shop like Rosewood (site sponsor) and have him take a look at them. He will be straight with you. Instead of pissing money into a hole in the ground..
