two questions, clutch and downpipe

ok so i'm still workin on the truck. its gonna have a 5 speed instead of my old 4 spd. what would be my options in clutches? i dont kick the crap out of my clutch so i expect it to last. in the future once i get some money since it is a powerstroke i'd like to pull it a little but its always gonna be my daily driver so can i use a pullin clutch or is that gonna be too heavy? if so what else could i go with? now on the downpipe, why is it that i only ever see a 3" made for the powerstroke?

thanks guys,
Erik

For the clutch, look into Valair or South bend. Or LUK

For the downpipe, The reason you really only see 3" is because you can't fit a 4" on an OBS without body lifting the truck or hacking the firewall. So if you were a manufacturer, how economical is it for you to make those? Tymar has a downpipe that is 3" to start, goes to 3 1/2" and then 4" towards the bottom where it hooks up to the rest of the exhaust.

A 3" DP is easier to install on an OBS. As for the clutch, I recommend South Bend.

thanks guys. do you have a link to the tymar? and for the clutch i like south bend but does anybody know if i could use a dual disk pulling clutch for a daily driver til i pull it?

For the Tymar thing, He doesn't have a website, You would have to call or email him...

thanks. i'd rather do it that way for my 4 inch exhaust. that should look much cleaner

For the clutch, Swamp's Webstore - Ford or Beans Diesel Performance (Powered by CubeCart).

on summitracing.com you can get a hays clutch for about $355 but a stage one south bend is reasonable too. http://www.summitracing.com/search/y...?Ns=Rank%7cAsc

I put a Hays in my '96, it was nice, but then I put in Stage I's, and it didn't last too long after that :dang:

as for the clutch i have a pulling clutch from south bend in it that i use as a daily driver no problems there.
also have a 3 1/2 dp but had to cut at the firewall a little:dang:
