Drained Trans fluid, now clutch wont engage
I wasnt paying attention the other day when I changed my tranny fluid, and I accidentally put in a quart to much... So today I went to drain the fluid, I was told I could disconnect the sending line to the cooler and start the truck and it would pump fluid out. So, thats what I did drained about a half a quart and now the truck wont go i an gear. Its an automatic trans, the E040, 97 OBS.
I think I may have just got air in there, what do you guys think? and if that is the problem would I have to drop the pan and drain all the fluid and refill it? Thanks in advance. |
Thats what is think happen you just got air in the tranmisson. Try letting it sit for a day and if that doesn't work you will have to drain it and refill it. I had to do that to an older chevy truck.:tttt:

Got is solved guys, from what I understand there is a "front" and "rear" pump the front pump goes to the cooler lines, so when I drained it , and how I did it, I pulled fluid from the torque converter, So it did create a big air bubble. I let the truck run for about 15 min, then went through the gears, no gas-foot on the break, and stayed in each gear for about 45 seconds, went from N-D-2-1 put it back in drive and she's run'n strong
