1211 can be an oil issue, 1211 can be an ipr problem, 1211 can be a pump issue, 1211 can be a an injector issue. 1211 can probably be caused by things you are aware of that I am not. Since Joe is so frustrated, I (we) are trying to guide him through some things he can do prior to having a professional diagnose/fix it.

If you can help that would be appreciated.

A little bit of background on the "Implying that he should not read his own codes was a slap in the face to all of us. " statement.....

I take calls and read internet forum posts day in and day out about how people shell out thousands of dollars for injectors after they get AutoEnginuity and run cylinder contribution tests every 5 minutes. After they spend all of the money chasing phantom CCT codes (that are NORMAL), they come right back pissed off that they spent all of this money for nothing. They assume that just because a cylinder contribution test tells them that #8 cylinder isn't contributing as much, that the injector is bad. Bad idea to assume......

It also boils down to my experience as an automotive technician always having to deal with customers/service writers that expect me to just take two minutes hooking up a scanner and tell them what the problem is (because scanners always tell you exactly what sensor needs to be replaced, right?). So I do have a bit of animosity towards them.

However, going off the deep end like I did probably wasn't the right thing to do and I apologize to both of you for the outburst. That's what I get for not doing a bit of research on a poster's past posts and just diving head first into the midst of battle.

As for help....
Use that scanner to check IPR duty cycle and ICP. Then let us know what you find.

So, what was figured out? Nobody said to RELY on a scanner, they are a useful tool (and often the first step) in troubleshooting...as you will find out while getting your cert. for Freightliner Tech.

As I have posted before, it woul be nice to reveal what the problem was. It might help somebody else someday... Maybe even me.

Hi, we were having problems with our 95psd turned out to be HPOP replaced it,but before we did took it to a garage and their scanner came up with ICP bad codes, got pump replaced but
still show ICP codes of (1222&1280) which is telling me i may have sensor problems, but could
it be that while we were changing HPOP that maybe we got some contamination in sensor
that is giving us a phony code, was thinking about getting a can of electrical&air spray to clean connections, thanks
