severe loss of power!

Drivin down the freeway around 70 check engine light comes on and as that does I got absolutly no power but engine was idling fine then shut it off started it back up and it was fine. Then did it again today any ideas

Get the truck scanned for codes. The CEL came on which means a code was stored. Otherwise we would only be guessing.

Someone said it could b a cam sensor

95powersmoker 02-13-2011 11:19 AM

CPS would stall the truck. It didn't sound like yours stalled...

No I pulled over sounded normal but I could mash the throttle to the floor and it barley did anything

My advice to you before you go any further is get the truck scanned. Knowing that code that was thrown is necessary to diagnosing the issue.

Ya get it scanned. My cam sensor went out and it died going down the road then wouldnt start. So more than likely its not the cam sensor

It happened once I did the downpipe exughst and intake. There's no muffler or cat

That shouldn't have anything to do with it. You have a bigger problem. Your computer saw something it didn't like and set a code. You need to know what that code is so you can fix whatever the computer saw.

it'd definently not the CPS. it went out on a 96 i had over night. it was fine one day. the next day it didn't run. get a scanner on it. it should give you a pretty good idea.
