Next issue-----Fuel gauge.

hey everyone i have a 96 f250 and my fuel gauge for my front tank is stuck past the full line. it can be an empty tank or full does not matter the gauge does not go down. when i switch to the back tank the gauge works fine. anyone else have this problem and or know a solution to fix it? it has been messed up since i bought the truck and would like to get it fixed. any help is appreciated.

You're in luck.

The front fuel tank sending unit is located just above the driveshaft and is easy to remove without dropping the tank or removing the box.

My bet is that the sender arm separated from the base. No big deal. Just get a new sender and o-ring (take it apart first).

Disclaimer:
This is something I would typically check first electrically at the sender connector but I cannot guarantee that someone else would do it correctly so without having to do any explaining about how to check it electrically, I'd start by pulling the sending unit out. Fixed a lot of these with new senders.

so exactly how much is a new sending unit?

IIRC over 300... This is why i let mine sit below Empty all the time and just go by miles driven.
