What trans temp
I am looking at a trans cooler with a built in thermo stat, the thermo kicks in at 180 degrees which seems a bit high... But I'm sure the guys building the things know there stuff, do you guys think that's pushin it a bit hot?

driving down the freeway holding a steady 76mph my tranny will be at 165-185 in 45 min to an hour. but thats my trany idk about everyone elses

Mine like to sit anywhere between 125-150 just driving all day long. If i'm in traffic, it will come up to 160-165. I have never seen above that.
To me, 185 is a good place to use the extra cooling. Once you hit 200 you need to start being careful, Hitting 220 and I would rest the thing, running up around 250 and that thing is straight up boiling. |

180* is fine... I dont see the need for a fan or T-stat control on a tranny cooler. Just add a tranny cooler in like up front and be done. I see anywhere from 130-190 for tranny temps. Depending on how heavy I am hauling and the speeds I am going. |
mine is usually between 140-180
