97 powerstroke water in oil

i posted a thread not to long ago thinking i hadahead gasket issue because it got hot. im thinking if i had head gasket or cracked head out then i woulkd be losing water really fast and it would push water out the radiator cap correct? no white smoke and exaughst smells and looks fine!!i have no water leaks but im losing the whole clear tank on a 60 mile drive! im thinking oil cooler ?i have water in top and bottom end it looks like and when its running i have quite a bit of blow by when u pull oil cap off ... TRUCK RUNS PERFECTLY FINE! NO MIS NO SPUTTERS AND IT DOESNT OVERHEAT SINCE I DID THE THERMOSTAT! this isssue is really started to bug me:argh: lol any help would be much appreceated:tu:

well if you have a bad head gasket you could be leaking water into your oil, have you checked that? or it could be blowing out of your exhaust, which would also be head and/or head gasket, ( i believe, if I'm incorrect please correct me)

I Agree with 99stackedpowerstroke on that the only way to get water into a motor like that is cracked block or head, or blown head gasket. Had a bulldozer do it about 7 months ago head was cracked between a water, and oil passage so it wasnt getting into the cylinder to cause steam just filling up the crankcase with water, but hopefully your heads are fine and you just blew the gasket.

oh ya could be a pin hole in the cylinder wall, my 92 diesel did that and i was dumping oil in radiator, i dont know if it could dump water in oil or not, i just remembered that, it might be useful sorry to hear if it is this

wouldnt the pressure from the compresion shoot thewater out of the radiator when running though? and cant be comin out exausght no moistue at all smells good and no white smoke

not exactly, if you have a cracked head or anything the water would just dump into the motor, like i said when i had a hole in my cylinder wall i got oil in antifreeze and antifreeze in the oil, so check your oil to see if its milky and check the antifreeze for oil

like i said though it runs cherry good oil pressure and low temp u think with blow head gasket it wouldnt run as good

my buddy blew out the bottom of his radiator and there was no steam smoke or any signs and gauges were showing normal. then the engine got hot enough to boil the oil. (572 degrees F) and that's about when the HPOP died. so just because you're losing coolant, doesn't mean it's going to run bad.
