i have a question about a tuner

i have a 97 ford f-250 7.3 leter turbo diesel it has two hundred and 30 thousand miles on it its stock no performance things have been done only bigger down pipe and exhased but i wanna put a DP tuner on it will it hurt anything to put that tuner on it without any problems because its been stock for this many miles

Nope.

cumminterd 11-30-2010 09:51 AM

go with a ts 6 position.

go dp...no others can compare

Honestly, I'd go with a tuner near you so you can get ahold of them easier.

I'd go for PHP. Bill has been tuning longer than anyone and is who got Jody at DP started. I think his tuning is much safer and better overall than DP.

my suggestion is Tony Wildman tunes thats what i have. whatever you do research it and find what you feel is the best for you. good luck with it

I think you just just check to see who offers exactly what you want at a price you can swallow. I've driven trucks with T. Wildman, and Bean's diesel tunes and they were great! I'm currently running Swamp's in my '99 and LOVE it! There are many great tuners out there with awsome reputations...check them all out and narrow it down from there.

Diesel power mag says anything below a HEALTHY 250,000 miles is safe to modify, I'd say any amount of miles is safe to modify depending on oil pressure, blowby, and the shape of the injectors.
