i have a 96 7.3 w/5spd i put an edge evolution and a k&n intake on it....its got 3.5'' back to 6'' stacks....did away with muffler....it runs good and has power but i was wondering if i could do anything to my stock turbo to make it better without spending a bunch of money....ive already spent a ton on this truck and im pretty well out of money....so i was hopeing to be able to do something to it....also is there any way to turn up the pump or any part of the fuel system to get more power and smoke....a buddy said there was a screw i could turn but im not sure im new to powerstrokes ive always worked on cummins....so please any help where i aint gotta spend a bunch of money would help me so much

Nope... nothing you can do without spending money. Do you have a set of gauges? Need to watch those EGT's...

No screw to turn. just tuning, injectors, turbo, intake, etc, etc.

thats what i was afraid of...yeah my evolution cs has a screen with gauges on it..yeah i want to do more but i cant till i get some more money...but someone said they thought my turbo was going out bc i had some white smoke at start up but it seems ok to me...also if im goin to redo my clutch who should i look at for good parts?

The white smoke isn't necessarily a bad thing; might be an indication of injector o-rings leaking, but could also be the normal condensation inside the exhaust system burning off. If the white smoke goes away after a minute or so, I'd say you're okay.

Verify that your hoses and tubes are not leaking anywhere from or to the turbo.

Check your fuel pressure. If it's low, you can add a BB (from a BB gun; not a ball bearing) to the FPR to bring it back into spec. (40 - 80 psi at idle).

I did both of these and swapped out the stock air box and installed a NAPA 6637 filter. I don't have any guages, yet, so I can't give you any boost numbers. I've also installed a 3.5" downpipe and 4" exhaust.

Other than using resistors to increase the fuel pressure, I'm pretty much stock. Best dyno numbers obtained prior to the exhaust install was 199.8 HP / 372.3 TQ at the rear wheels.

You can remove the EBV it helps a little, but I dont know if its worth the time, and if your turbo was going out you would have excessive black smoke not white. white means its starved for fuel or air in fuel.

thats what i thought i think its condinsation....and how would i go about puttin that bb in there?.....and who makes the best clutch for that truck? i want to redo mine soon with a 375hp clutch so it will be a little better than stock
