Hot start problem

I have a 1995 Powerstroke with 225,000 miles on it. When it is cold it starts good and has alot more power. But when I start it hot it chugs like its missing for about 10 seconds. Also it seems to have a slight miss that progressivly gets worse as it warms up. Could this be the HPOP? Would it help to get a video up of cold and hot starts? Any help would be appreciated.

possibly so it sounds right as the oil gets thinner the hpop is having a hard time keeping the pressure

Thats what I was thinking. Would the low oil pressure cause a slight injector miss?

The problem with oil is it gets foamy. When it gets foamy, it is a lousy hydraulic fluid and does not operate the injectors properly. Make sure you have the correct powerstroke oil - see Dieselmann's page on intellidog.com then Powerstroke page for engine oil requirements and info. Then, change your oil.

I have been using the Rolleta T oil. Is the oil in the top injection end circulated throught the motor? I was thinking about changing it. Also is there a thread on the Cackle fix on this site? I was thinking that could be part of my slight miss problem. The motor passes a cylinder contribution test and a buzz test so im hoping its not an injector or compression problem. Also I read about a cracked oil pick up tube. What is involved in repacing these?

Also at times it has a buck at crusing speed around 50-55. It is only when it is not completely warmed up, but not cold. What is the best thermostat temp to run? I had to put in a 210* for the winter to make heat and think that might be too hot for the summer. My temp gauge is a little over half way on the gauge.

Rotella meets the requirements. Your engine oil is circulated and used to drive the injectors. The oil contains anti-foaming agent that can become depleted if not changed regularly. Silicone used in repairs also depletes it. Only use "powerstroke" rtv silicone from Ford or Motorcraft or International on anything in contact with the motor oil. Even when using "powerstroke" rtv silicone, follow it up with fleetrite antifoam addative.

My experience says make absolutely certain you have good clean oil and give it a few hundred miles to recirculate through the HPO system. If you don't you will end up throwing part after part at it in vane. If you have used silicone, more drastic measures may be required.

Your engine was designed to run at 203*. A 210* t-stat probably gave you no more heat when you wanted it (idling to warm up) because at idle, it just won't manufacture enough heat to even open a low temp (stock) t-stat. A chip with a high idle setting would be your best bet.

Your "bucking" problem is most likely your cam position sensor.

The "cackle" issue is only a problem for the 99' model year.

Ok so this is not aproblem with my oil. I have never used RTV on my motor so HPOP or oil pickup tube? As far as the T-stat I was running the motor at temps less than -40F and it was making absoutely no heat even after running down the road for hours. After I put the T-stat in it worked great, I was just concerned it might be getting too hot for summertime use. And for the CPS, I was getting a CPS code thrown, replaced it and havent had the code pop since. I believe its contributed from the slight miss im having. I dont consider it a complete miss because it will pass a cylinder contribution test, ill try to get a video of a cold and hot start up for you guys.

Ok I got a sound clip of the hot and cold starts. I dont know how to get them up on this site, and there in a format that requires realplayer for some reason.

Check your ipr valve and do you change your oil every 3000 miles that have do with it and dont use ether or you mite blow the head off
