any big issues

Im an IDI guy but looking at gettin a 97 7.3 f-250 are there any big issues that should be addressed right off the bat or are they generally good from the getgo? if i get it i plan on a chip, intake, clutch and ebc brakes. bout what kinda mpg do they get. and the only big issue with the truck is in order to start it you have to slam the clutch pedal down while havin the igitionin start position what would cause this to happen and how do i fix it

I have the same problem with my clutch. Not sure how to fix it, it hasnt bothered me that much. I havent had any big problems with it besides a new relay and some new glow plugs. I get around 19 highway, and anywhere from 16-18 depending on how I drive city

There is a clutch interlock, more then likely the switch is out of ajustment...

alot of the time the bushing on the pedal to clutch master is wore out, this makes the pedal not get full travel, so it won't trip safety switch.
i put a heim joint on mine and it worked great, even made the clutch action smoother.

round about what kinda mpg do they get chipped

if your hard on it all the time you will see like 12 to 13 mpg but if you your easy on it alot of the time i have seen people get like 18 depending on what chip you get and how high you run it
