jake brake sticking
my jake brake seems to be sticking on regardles of if the switch is on or off. when i am accelerating it does not stick but any steady cruzing it kicks on. Does anyone know whats going on?

Its not a jake... Its an exhaust brake.
How do you have it wired? Does the PCM still have control over it? |

exhaust brake
i am not sure how it is wired, it was on the truck when i got it.
|
are you sure it is your exhaust brake and its not just the ebpv valve because i know mine would kick on when crusing but not while getting on it, it sounds like a sucking noise in your exhaust if you dont know.:tu:
|
could be
that may be the case. it sounds like a sucking in the exhaust . i just assumed it was the exhaust brake because it also sounds like that. anyways what would the fix be.
|
unplug the valve, is it cold when it happens? if it is im sure its the ebpv valve, just unplug it, im not exactly sure where the plug is but its easy to do, someone will chime in and tell you were to unplug it, its simple and easy no big deal.

You can unplug it, its in the base of the turbo pedistal. Underneath the turbo.
