97 PSD issues

New here and didn"t get much help at all from other fourms, so a coworker turned me on to here.
Here's the issue. I blew out the fuel line leaving the filter housing to the passenger side injectors. I went ahead and replaced both hoses along with the fuel filter. Right after fixing the hoses and using the truck for the first time afterwards, the truck started to run real rough after the first 15 mins or so. When accelarating on the road the enginge would drop to down to idel with pedal floored. After about 30 secs. it would pick back up to normal, and be fine the rest of the day. Well now it is starting to run rougher for longer, and feels when the "power" is needed it doesn't seem to be there. I haven't tried to get any codes pulled, and the filter I got was the one that comes with some crazy cap on it. Could it be the filter possibly getting air in it, or could it be something more invasive?

* When ideling when it's first started it runs smooth as ever though :argh:

This is only a guess, but I have heard of the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) going bad. Good Luck!

I forgot to mention that I run bio mix when available up to 100% down to B20. I 've seen that this could cause the FPR to clogg and maybe the new filter is clogged, since I had been running B100 for 2 fill ups. It's just strange this happened after the filter was changed and the line blew....

start with new filter. dont overthink it.

Fuel filter didn't do it!! Changed it, let the truck idle for about 10 mins. (no problems) and brought it up to about 2k and it started to slowly loose power after about 20 seconds, and when I went to try to correct it it blew greyish white smoke unitl I let off. After I let off, it started "chugging" and running rough! Where do I go from here? Like everyone else funds are limited slightly, and I have some mechanical skills, so if there is anything I can do myself please let me know!!

Thanks, Eric

i dont know if it will help but on the inside of the fuel filter housing on the drivers side theres a little port for fuel to relieve. take q-tips and clean it out, mine took about 5 before it was clean.

Got It...!!

Before I got on here today, I took the FPR screen out and it was completely caked up.. It even had a damn hair of some sort in it, must've been from the bio I was running.. I was starting to get a little ticked off because everyone was saying it was an injector, it's the fuel pump, change ur harnesses, it's the cpm (that's the code that it threw out - cam sensor intermittent failure). Running good so far.. Thaks for the replys.

Eric
