Ebay turbo

Got my new turbo from Ebay painted and installed. I used the VHT spray paint from Autozone and O'reillys to paint the exhaust side. Baked the turbo in the oven as directed. Only some small white spots appeared after the first hard highway run. Happy now not looking at a clean diesel with the rust hump in the back. The turbo I got had the wicked weasel wheel and the smaller 1.00 housing for a quicker spool up. The turbo intake was also ported and polished. The road test showed two things. It did spool quicker but my exhaust is allready open so I didn't notice it being any louder than a "stock" unit. As far as the ported intake I am still running a stock intake so any gains there were probably negated. I used the ford shop pub as a guide to remove the turbo but didn't follow it because I didn't want to remove the up pipes from the headers or the collector piece. It was a pain in the ass to get 6 bolts and two nut off but soaking in first with aerokroil made it easier. Just alot of clearance issues without removing the downpipe either. Over all it was very straight forward job. It took three days of time to between removal and painting to get her done but I wasn't in a hurry.
